The decision to seek psychotherapy is personal and sometimes daunting. Often the fear of the unknown keeps us from moving forward and away from “familiar” pain.

The work to become an authentic, whole person can seem overwhelming. I believe that the answers are always within the individual. My job, as your therapist, is to be with you while you discover your true potential.

Combined with a mindfulness approach, I employ an eclectic blend of techniques proven to bring about results in those seeking health and wellness

Addictive Behaviors

My working definition of addiction: Any behavior that is continuously repeated, with a lack of control, despite occurring negative consequences. Many times, it involves some sort of substance (meth, heroin, opiates, etc.). However, it could also involve compulsions and obsessions, gambling, sex/love, emotions, food, or a hundred differing things. The key point is how it affects one’s life. If you are struggling, even before it gets bad, contact me today. I have extensive experience in 12-step recovery and draw from it, as well as evidence based cognitive behavioral therapies from a mindfulness perspective, to help achieve wellness.

LGBTQ+

HIV/AIDS and Aging

As we continue the fight for our place in society, many come away with battle scars. Family members turn away, jobs are lost, struggle to maintain healthy relationships. Out to all, out to some or out to none wherever one falls, it can be hard to stand. I am sensitive to your needs, where you are now. I can help you find your ground and stand firmly on it. For those living with HIV/AIDS and navigating new seas of change, I am here. I can help you realize actualization while managing the medical. We will be the first generation to enter retirement as out LGBTQ+ in great numbers. How will that change you and the world around you? Together we will find your place in the sun.

Anxiety/Depression/Bi-Polar

Mid-Life Adjustments

You are so much more than a diagnosis. We will leave your diagnosis at the door and focus on where you are now, where you want to go, and how to get you there. For myself, I see not the mental illness, but the opportunity for a greater mental wellness. I employ an eclectic combination of cognitive behavioral and rapid resolution therapies with a mindfulness/solution approach to well-being. I understand, having done so myself, the fear and stress of reinventing one’s self in mid-life. In today’s youth driven culture, it is easy to feel invisible as you are aging. Depression/Anxiety/Mania instigates a downward spiral into a black hole of quicksand. It is impossible to pull out of the quagmire alone. This is where the right therapist can be most important. I will be with you every step of the way and we will put together a plan to keep you from returning that black hole.
